"We’ve had a good experience with…"
We’ve had a good experience with Outschool overall. My kid’s teachers have mostly been really good about keeping the class moving and stepping in when things get too loud, especially with muting kids when needed. thank you, because sometimes these online classes can go from learning to total chaos in about five seconds. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because the classroom rules seem to change depending on the teacher. One teacher is super on top of things, another lets stuff slide, and then a couple of kids can end up derailing the whole class for a bit. Not the end of the world, but it does get annoying when you’re paying for an actual class and suddenly it turns into random kid story hour. That said, it’s still been a positive experience for us, and my kid genuinely enjoys the classes, so we’re sticking with it for now.

"My kid didn’t really get the confidence boost I was hoping for"
We tried a confidence-building class on outschool because I was hoping it would help my kid feel a little more comfortable speaking up and participating, especially since they can be shy in group settings. The teacher seemed nice and friendly enough, so it wasn’t like there was anything rude or unpleasant happening, but my kid still ended up feeling kind of overlooked most of the time. I think they needed more direct encouragement or check-ins, especially in a class that’s specifically supposed to help with confidence. Instead, it felt like they were just sort of sitting there while other kids got more attention. By the end, I didn’t notice much of a difference, and my kid didn’t feel like they got much real support from it

"The app crashed again while I…"
The app crashed again while I was in class, which was frustrating. I was already trying to keep up with the lesson and had my notebook open, so having to restart everything just threw me off for a few minutes. It’s not the first time this has happened either.

"Outschool was okay overall, but I was hoping…"
Outschool was okay overall, but I was hoping to find more classes that matched what my kid is actually into. At first it seemed like there were a lot of options, but this is where it got annoying: once I started clicking around, a lot of the classes felt really similar or like the same topics repeated over and over. I can see how it might be better for other subjects, but for us, the variety just felt limited.

"Just Okay, Didn’t Really Click"
The classes were alright overall, but my kid seemed to zone out often. The teacher did make an effort, so I don’t want to be too harsh, but it kind of felt like they were more focused on getting through the lesson than really keeping the kids engaged. Maybe that wasn’t the intention, but that’s how it came across for us...

"Mostly helpful, but I’m a little more cautious now"
Outschool has been useful for our homeschool routine, especially because we can fit classes around our own schedule and try subjects I wouldn’t really teach myself, like art or coding. My kid has found a few classes that kept them genuinely interested, which I appreciate. That said, I’ve learned not to assume every class will be great. Some teachers have been excellent, and others were just okay, so I always read reviews carefully now before signing up. The cost can add up faster than expected too. Overall, it’s still been helpful, but I trust it a bit less than I did at the beginning and feel like I have to vet everything first.

"Good classes, but the cost can be hard to justify"
I’ve taken a few classes that I genuinely enjoyed, and to be fair, some of the instructors are really good. But the prices add up quickly, especially if you want to take more than one. For what’s included, it doesn’t always feel like the value matches the cost. I’d be more likely to keep using it if there were more affordable options or clearer lower-priced choices.

"Class started late and support was slow"
The instructor showed up late, but the class still ended at the regular time. My kid was just sitting there waiting and seemed confused about what was going on. I reached out to support too, but they were slow to respond. It is frustrating to pay for a class when the start time does not seem to matter.

"My kid genuinely enjoys Outschool, and most of…"
My kid genuinely enjoys outschool, and most of the teachers we’ve had come across as kind and approachable. My only real complaint is that some classes feel a little too full, so it can be harder for every kid to get a chance to participate. The overall vibe is still positive, though, and I’d say it’s been a good experience for us.

"Not the Most Helpful Class"
I kind of left feeling like the teacher didn’t really know the material that well, or at least didn’t explain it in a way that made me feel confident. I kept waiting for things to click, but the answers were vague and it just felt a little all over the place.

"The classes themselves are good, and…"
The classes themselves are good, and my kid seems to enjoy them, so I don’t really have a big complaint there. It’s more the schedule that gets annoying. A lot of the time the class we want is only offered at some random hour, or right in the middle of school/work stuff, which doesn’t make much sense for families. And if we miss one, it’s not like there are a bunch of simple makeup options. I get that they can’t have classes every minute of the day, but it still feels like it should be easier to fit in, especially when schedules change.

"Quick help when I needed it"
Had a small issue and wasn’t sure how long it gonna take, but support got back to me fast and fixed it. Really happy with how easy it was.

"Not gonna lie, my kid was actually…"
Not gonna lie, my kid was actually really interested in the topic, but the peer interaction just wasn’t great. A few kids kept talking over everyone else, and the teacher didn’t seem to manage it very well. Instead of feeling social or collaborative, it came off chaotic. Maybe we just ended up in a bad class, but I probably wouldn’t use it again for group learning

"Not as hands-on as advertised"
The class was fine overall, but it was the same issue we’ve run into before — the description made it sound way more interactive than it actually was. We picked it because it seemed like my kid would be doing activities and getting involved, but they mostly just sat and listened. It wasn’t awful or anything, just kind of frustrating and disappointing when the listing sets different expectations.

"Most of the classes were really good and…"
Most of the classes were really good and felt worth the time, but one of them seemed rushed. It didn’t feel quite right to move through the material that fast, especially when people are paying to actually learn and understand it.

"Not really for younger kids"
I went into this thinking it would be fine for the kids, but it felt way more mature than I expected. I remember sitting there feeling a little uncomfortable, like, “Oh no, this isn’t what I thought it was going to be.” Some parts just seemed better suited for older teens or adults. Definitely not something I’d pick for younger children.

"My kid has been getting really solid help…"
My kid has been getting really solid help with homework, which I definitely appreciate. The only thing I’ve noticed is that a few classes can feel a bit rushed here and there, but overall it’s been a positive experience.

"I gave Outschool a try for my child..."
I gave Outschool a try for my child, but I never felt totally comfortable with the privacy side of it. Maybe I’m being overly cautious, but it seemed like there was a lot of kid info and class-related stuff that could be shared, and I wasn’t always clear on who could see what. I really wanted to like it, and I’m sure it works fine for some families, but I expected the safety controls to feel more obvious and reassuring. In the end, I deleted the account because I just couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling.

"Good overall, especially for science and writing"
My son has tried a few Outschool classes now, and what’s stood out to me most is that he actually remembers what he’s learning afterward. That’s usually how I can tell something is working for him. The teachers explain things in a way that keeps his attention, especially in science and writing classes. Not every class has been perfect, and a couple have felt a little rushed, but overall the experience has been really positive. I’d give it 4 stars.

"Good teachers, but accommodations can be inconsistent"
I’m kind of torn on Outschool. We’ve had some really good teachers, and there are definitely classes my kid enjoyed. But when it comes to accommodations, it feels a little hit or miss. My kid needs extra time and more clear directions, and some teachers handled that well, while others… not so much. You basically have to message each teacher ahead of time and just hope they get it. It’s not a bad platform, but for kids who learn differently, it can be frustrating.
